Specialized Services is an outpatient service area comprised of eight multidisciplinary teams and 10 psychiatrists. This includes specialty clinics such as Treatment Resistant ADHD, Mood and Anxiety clinics including early Psychotic disturbances, Neuropsychiatry clinic, Parent Support and Consultation clinic, Emerging adult clinic, school consultation clinic and Psychiatry only medication and assessment clinic.

The CMD will provide day-to-day leadership within this service area. These clinics provide service for children and adolescents (and their families) who have a diagnosis of moderate to severe mental illnesses that have been treated with evidence-based interventions but has not responded optimally due to treatment-resistance and/or complexity of the disorder. The impacts of Covid have led to an increase in both the number of referrals to the clinics as well as the acuity of the patients presenting.
